I love this but what I wonder is how if I am choosing to educate my son not within schools how learning like this can happen. The fact that there is another child to play with on the front stoops of our block is rare enough in our city where in a time where children have hardly any time to form these groups on their own can it occur? (I hope I stated this clearly)

@echolage-I really understand your sentiments but I think learning like this can happen when we get involved in our communities and neighborhoods-and not just with peers but all ages. I plan to write a post about this very idea- so stay tuned. In the mean time, it's time to meet your neighbours and see what's cooking in your community!

I look forward to reading that post, I have some of my own ideas but they aren't fully formulated yet.
